1 – 2 years

Toddler years are filled with energy, curiosity, and enthusiasm and accordingly our program for the toddlers is designed to channel this energy into positive and active learning experiences.

Our dedicated teachers plan their daily activities to correspond with the developmental and learning milestones for this age group.

Our personalized child assessment guide the learning in the following areas:

Cognitive Skills

During the toddler years, the children have enough physical and language development to be able to make connections between the words spoken and the task requested. Activities involving creative thinking, problem solving and following routine and steps, sorting and categorizing are planned in our daily program.

Physical Development (Fine & Gross Motor)

Our skilled teachers organize indoor and outdoor games to refine the children’s coordination, balance and control of the fine and gross movements.

Social Emotional Development

We teach the children to better understand their emotions and feelings and those of others. Songs, stories, games and puppets shows are used to model various behaviors and emotions.

Self Help & Independence skills

The children in the toddler class begin receiving their meals together in the dining room in a family style setting. They are encouraged and supported to sit at the table and feed themselves independently. Positive reinforcement is key in every step they take.

Communication & Language

Our teachers facilitate the transition for your toddler from the nonverbal to the verbal by modeling conversations, elaborating on non-verbal requests, continually describing situations, emotions and the surrounding events.

Expressive Arts & Design

We begin introducing our young learners to different art materials and to a variety of textures.  Children learn to tear paper, stick and glue, pat and roll play-dough as well as finger paint.

Literacy

Using the Jolly Phonics program, children begin to explore the sounds of letters and their corresponding songs and movements in a fun and multi-sensory approach.

Numeracy

Through songs and games, the toddlers learn about numeracy concepts like shapes and sizes.

Science & Technology

Children learn how to operate mechanical toys, e.g. turns the knob on a wind-up toy or pulls back on a friction car. They also explore lots of cause and effect games.
