3 – 4 years

Children at this age continue their journey of exploration and discovery to get themselves ready for school. In this program, we have several crucial pillars that we focus on to bring the children to their utmost potential.

Below are the main pillars and examples of what we focus on:

Cognitive Skills

The children in this program are exposed to a variety of puzzles and games that promotes their visual perception, problem solving, following games rules, as well as to develop their understanding of different geometrical designs and orientation.

Physical Development (Fine & Gross Motor)

Children have higher control of their fine motor skills, and the teachers capitalize on this development and plan an assortment of activities for them to trace simple letters, write their own names, use scissors to cut simple shapes. Outdoor games involving skipping, jumping and walking backward are also organized to develop those skills in the children.

Social Emotional Development

Our teachers guide the children in various pretend play scenarios to cultivate their concept of self and others. They also learn about other cultures from around the world.

Self Help & Independence skills

Since our meals are served family-style, we teach the children proper table manners and how to share food with others. Children are also encouraged to serve and pour for themselves in order to develop their self-help skills and empower them to have pride and ownership of the food they are eating.

Communication & Language

Our teachers ask the children to show and tell their favorite toys, to retell a story and reflect on it, to share with the class their weekend activities, etc.  This is an age of expanding their vocabulary and expressive skills.

Expressive Arts & Design

Activities are planned by the teachers to help children build different structures with blocks, puzzles and a variety of art recycled materials. Children also get the opportunity to get exposed to the art of renowned artist and to discuss and explore the differences in their styles.

Literacy

Teachers plan activities to explore beginning and ending sounds. Rhyming games are also organized. Children are encouraged to sound and blend letters together to develop their pre-reading skills.

Numeracy

Our numeracy center in the classes will have daily hands-on activities to encourage the children’s learning of counting and number concepts, correlating shape of number to name to quantity.

Science & Technology

Our little explorers are provided in the classrooms with microscopes and hand lenses to examine different materials, living and non-living things. They are also encouraged to activate simple equipments & electronics like tablets and music players. They also begin planting seeds and watching their growth cycle.

Understanding the World

Children are encouraged by their teachers to discuss and explain their understanding of weather kinds and weather changes and how it relates to the different seasons.  They also explore how the Earth’s surface is made of different materials, e.g. rocks, sand, dirt, and water, and how each material has properties that can be described.
